Foundation First Aid/ First Aid Revalidation Certificate for Business (Formerly First Responder/Refresher)
Foundation First Aid Certificate and Revalidation First Aid Certificate are courses that cover the same content (US 6402 – US6401) and are delivered with a mix of practical scenarios. The main difference comes down to who the course is for and when your staff last trained.
Foundation First Aid is for people who are new to First Aid, work in a low-risk environment or whose previous First Aid Certificate has expired.
Revalidation First Aid is for people who have completed First Aid training within the last 2 years and want to refresh their knowledge and renew their NZQA certification.

Every day, in every workplace, the potential for a first aid event looms.
Foundation First Aid Certificate provides full training and an optional assessment against NZQA Unit Standards. It’s the right starting point for building confidence in emergency response and getting a recognised qualification.
Revalidation First Aid Certificate is required to maintain a current NZQA unit-standard-based certificate and ensure the knowledge remains up to date. Training must be done every two years, before the certificate expires. However, there’s a 3-month grace period after expiry where the revalidation can still be done. If it is not completed within this timeframe, Foundation training must be undertaken and assessed to receive a new certificate.
If your staff completed their original training somewhere else, we can provide the revalidation for you. This course can be run as part of a full-day First Aid Training, making it ideal for workplaces that have staff needing the full training, mixed with those that only need revalidation.
Completing the Pre-course reading beforehand allows your people to earn NZQA unit standards 6401 and 6402.
