Pre-employment screenings
You can’t judge a book by its cover!
A pre-employment check is an important part of the employment process and offers you, as the employer, the opportunity to find out more information about a potential future employee’s health and wellbeing. We provide individual, one-to-one pre-employment medical checks of prospective staff members for companies and organisations.
Drug testing
Give yourself the peace of mind
Employers are increasingly aware of drugs in the workplace and the impact this has on safety and the overall business.
Maintaining a drug-free workplace is crucial for employers to create a safe and productive environment while minimising potential risks. The Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 places a duty of care on the employer to provide a safe workplace for their employees. Implementing drug testing measures can play a crucial role in achieving this objective.
Employees who may have taken drugs, even in a personal capacity outside of work, can continue to be affected by those drugs when they are at work. This can lead to “Poor concentration, carelessness, risk-taking behaviour, and errors in judgement. Drug and alcohol abuse not only affects work performance, but also results in higher rates of injuries, fatalities, and absenteeism as well as reduced productivity”. (Department of Labour)
Urine Drug Testing
Urine testing allows the employer to identify employees who may have used drugs and could represent a risk to the workplace’s safety.
Drugs tested for:
- THC
- Cocaine
- Amphetamine
- Methamphetamine
- Benzodiazepines
- Opiates
Results for these tests can be instant with a “Negative” result or “Requires further testing” result. Further testing can then be done by sending the sample off for analysis at an approved laboratory.
Online Pre-Employment Tool
Employing a new team member is exciting. Having baseline health information for future reporting and health monitoring helps ensure they remain happy, healthy and engaged in their work.
The Life Care Consultants pre-employment platform provides a fast, simple and accountable system to enter and track data, receive feedback and store pre-employment information. A one-to-one pre-employment medical check will take between 45 and 60 minutes per person to complete. The appointment is arranged by a Life Care Consultants Administrator at a time that suits your prospective employee and can be arranged nationwide or at your office.
Our pre-employment tool gives you your own login to the online system and allows you to easily add new employees to the system along with some basic information (name, date of birth, mobile phone and email) and a simple hazard assessment. The rest of the pre-employment process is managed by us.
We require the applicants to sign an electronic consent form that explains how the information gathered from the clinical check will be used. This safeguards both the applicants and your company.
The results of the medical checks are delivered electronically to your online dashboard within 24 hours (depending on the applicant’s response). All information is stored within the history tab for each applicant and is retrievable at a later date.
