First Aid

Basic Life Support and First Aid for Electrical Workers

Working with electricity means working with invisible risk; when something goes wrong, it happens fast, and the consequences can be severe. That’s why first aid training isn’t just a requirement for electrical workers in New Zealand; it’s a critical part of staying safe on the job.

This course is designed specifically for those working around electrical hazards. This hands-on course equips your team with the skills and confidence to respond immediately to incidents such as electric shock, cardiac arrest, burns, falls, and other high-risk scenarios common in the industry.

This course can be taken as part of the Foundation/Revalidation public courses (4-hour course) or can also be delivered on-site and completed in a shorter timeframe (2-hour course).

Have you considered how your team would react in an emergency?

Electrical incidents can stop the heart without warning, making CPR and early defibrillation (AED use) essential life-saving skills. When every second counts, the actions taken on-site can make all the difference.

We offer two delivery options to suit your business:

  • Public course (4 hours): Participants complete the full Foundation/Revalidation content, ensuring all required topics are covered in a structured learning environment.
  • On-site course (2 hours): Delivered at your workplace and tailored specifically to your team, focusing on relevant risks and scenarios, reducing time off the job and helping lower costs.

This course supports New Zealand workplace safety expectations and ensures your team is not only compliant but truly prepared to act when it matters most.

Testimonials

“I wanted to pass on great feedback from the group regarding the first training on Saturday 20/7/24, Tiffany was very good, enthusiastic and kept the good-sized group engaged from start to finish”.

Catherine Rubery at Goodman Contractors Ltd

“Fantastic facilitator to credit to her delivery. She was engaging and the feedback from the participants was great!”

Kylie Norman at Inframax Construction

Their methods are innovative, up to date and their staff friendly and extremely easy going, capable of adapting to any learning style. They are all very well equipped to provide anyone with this essential life skill. Our staff love them”

Sanja Zubcic at City Parks Services

“The training was fantastic. The tutors were great and I got some really good positive feedback from the staff who said they really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.”

June Wright at ECO Maintenance

“The presenter related to all the staff excellently, many comments made on this by both field staff and managers. Course content was also very good and what we had asked for. Considering the short notice, the service was choice and much appreciated.”

Rachel Haapu at Fulton Hogan

“Yolandi, our tutor today was bloody awesome. A wealth of knowledge and damn easy to get along with, better than every St John/Red Cross course I have attended. Keep up the good work”

Paul Clarke at Security Technician

“The feedback from the staff plus one contractor was great. The content, pace and delivery of the info was great. The bonus was that the staff really enjoyed it and openly participated. For us getting a time to suit a larger group of staff can be challenging but with the trainer(Dawn) coming to our site makes the process a lot less complicated and easier to arrange.”

Chris Woodley at Firth Industries

“As you are aware I have been a qualified first aider since 1962 and have at various times completed training with all known training suppliers. I was very impressed when I attended the refresher course in Wellington as part of my evaluation of the training you had on offer. When you arranged to run a course for Council in-house, I was blown away. Staff members were absent from their workplace for half the time span of any other training consultants, they all raved about the quality of the course, the content of the course and the presentation which was first class. Please pass my thanks to all your staff who had anything to do with this presentation. They all deserve a pat on the back.”
