LifeCare was proud to sponsor the Early Childhood Council (ECC) Conference, held in Wellington on 31 July and 1 August 2026, which brought together more than 450 delegates, including early childhood centre owners, managers, and teachers from across New Zealand.
The two-day event provided an opportunity for professionals and organisations involved in early childhood education (ECE) to connect, exchange ideas, discover innovative solutions and explore ways to better support the sector.
As a provider of workplace health services and first aid training, LifeCare welcomed the opportunity to engage with educators and centre leaders who play such an important role in supporting the safety and wellbeing of New Zealand’s youngest learners.
Connecting with the Early Childhood Education Community

Representing LifeCare at the conference were Lucy Squires, Account Manager – Education, and Robyn Duarte, Project Support Administrator, who spent two busy days connecting with delegates, meeting industry representatives and learning more about the challenges and opportunities facing early childhood education providers.
For the LifeCare team, one of the highlights was reconnecting with early childhood centres already using LifeCare’s services.
Supporting Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Early Childhood Education
Working in early childhood education comes with unique responsibilities. From responding to medical emergencies involving young children to supporting staff wellbeing and maintaining a safe environment, centre leaders and educators need the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to manage a wide range of situations.
At LifeCare, we understand the importance of providing training and workplace health solutions that reflect the needs of the ECE sector.
Our services include:
- First Aid Training for ECE: Equipping educators with practical skills and confidence to respond to emergencies involving infants, children and adults.
- Workplace Health and Wellbeing Services: Helping centres take a proactive approach to employee health through workplace health checks and wellbeing initiatives.
- Mental Health Training: Supporting educators and centre leaders in recognising mental health challenges, building resilience, and fostering supportive workplace environments.
By investing in the health, safety and wellbeing of their teams, early childhood education providers can help create safer, more supportive environments for both educators and the children in their care.
